Apple Zeroconf Service Discovery Protocol References

-- Sponsored Ads --

Zero configuration networking (zeroconf), is a set of techniques that automatically creates a usable Internet Protocol (IP) network without manual operator intervention or special configuration servers. Zero configuration networking allows inexpert users to connect computers, networked printers, and other network devices and expect a functioning network to be established automatically. Without zeroconf, a user must either set up special services, like Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) and Domain Name System services (DNS), or set up each computer’s network settings manually, which may be difficult or impossible for non-technical or novice users.

Zeroconf is built on three core technologies:

  1. Assignment of numeric network addresses for networked devices (link-local address autoconfiguration)
  2. Automatic resolution and distribution of computer hostnames (multicast DNS)
  3. Automatic location of network services, such as printing devices through DNS service discovery.

Zeroconf References

  1. Zero Configuration Networking (Zeroconf) – Zeroconf is not limited to networks with just two hosts, but as we scale up our technologies to larger networks, we always have to be sure we haven’t forgotten the two-devices (and no DHCP server) case.
  2. Zeroconf: IPv4 link local addresses – Zeroconf is a program that you can use to claim IPv4 link-local addresses. IPv4 link-local addresses are useful if you wish to setup ad-hoc networking between devices without the involvement of a either a DHCP server or your (very busy) network administrator.
  3. Unix and Linux Zeroconf Networking – This project supports the IETF zeroconf protocols, and other techniques used to configure IP networks without needing either a sysadmin or any kind of master server. The OS support is for UNIX, with a focus on GNU/Linux and BSD type systems
  4. Zeroconf and Python – Zeroconf (also previously called Rendezvous) is a protocol for discovering services available on the local network. Software using Zeroconf can ask for all services implementing a particular protocol, and then obtain more detailed information about one particular service instance. Zeroconf is used in Apple’s Mac OS X for discovering printers and HTTP servers, and Apple has made their implementation freely available. (See Apple’s Zeroconf developer site for more information.)
  5. Mono.Zeroconf – Mono – Mono.Zeroconf is a cross platform Zero Configuration Networking library for Mono and .NET. It provides a unified API for performing the most common zeroconf operations on a variety of platforms and subsystems: all the operating systems supported by Mono and both the Avahi http://avahi.org/) and Bonjour/mDNSResponder transports.
  6. Zeroconf Neighborhood Explorer for Windows – Networking is complex and in many ways getting more complex. To this end, many in the Internet standards area (including STG) are working to simplify the networking of devices by participating in the development of Zeroconf (Zero Configuration) networking standards. With the advent of Apple’s OS X operating system with integral support for Bonjour formerly Rendezvous – Apple’s Zeroconf implementation), many of the Zero Configuration technologies may already be kicking around your network.
  7. How does Zeroconf compare with Viiv/DLNA/DHWG/UPnP? -Taking the broadest view, the stories of Zeroconf and UPnP began with the same high-level observation: “Why is IP networking so hard? Why can’t it be like AppleTalk was in 1986, where you just plug things together and it all works automatically?”
  8. Zero configuration networking: Information from Answers.com – zero configuration Installing a peripheral in a computer or connecting a computer or device to a network without requiring any technical configuration.
  9. Technical Ramblings Zeroconf – There’s not a lot of webpages out there on the neat things you can do with Zeroconf. For some reason, this surprises me. I feel like it’s a pretty interesting technology, but it doesn’t seem like anyone’s done much with it
  10. Cycle Gap: How Come ZeroConf is Not Yet Wildly Popular – I have always wondered why Zeroconf adoption has been so poor. Stuart Cheshire of Apple who pioneered this technology, briefly explains one of the reasons in a presentation introducing zeroconf(6:16-7:30) at the 2006 Emerging Telephony Conference.

Basics of Trading in Stock Market

Stock Market Basics

The term stock market, as the name connotes, is a place where you can market or trade a company’s stock, which the corporation issues through shares in order to raise capital. Of course, capital is the cost that a company incurs in relation to producing its products and services.

-- Sponsored Ads --

The people who buy these shares are the shareholders, and the term can refer to an individual or an organization.

The term stock market can also apply to all the stocks available for trading (as well as other securities), for example, when used in terms like “the stock market performed well today.”

The stock market involves the trading of bonds, which is a debt security that stipulates that the issuer of the bonds holds the holders a debt. It is exactly like a loan, only that it is in the form of a security. These bonds are traded over-the-counter, which means they are traded directly between two parties. This is opposed to exchange trading or the trading that occurs on stock exchanges or future exchanges.

The stock market also involves the trading of commodities, which refer to raw commodities such as agricultural products (coffee, sugar, wheat, maize, barley, cocoa, milk products) and other raw materials (pork bellies, oil, metals).

The stock market is different from the stock exchange, which is primarily concerned with bringing together buyers and sellers of stock and securities.

You can participate in the stock exchange as an individual stock investor or as major player (large hedge fund trader). Orders at a stock exchange are usually made through a broker.

There are two types of exchanges where stocks can be traded. There is the exchange that has a physical location where verbal trading takes place. This is the more famous type of exchange because it is often depicted on TV showing animated trader shouting at each other, waving and running around frantically. That’s exactly how the stock exchange works. What happens is traders enter into verbal agreements on the prices of stocks. The other type of exhcnage is the virtual kind where traders deal electronically through computer terminals.

Planning for Sucess in Stock Market

Plan For Stock Market Success

To be a successful investor or trader, a written investment plan is a must! In fact, most broking firms will not allow its professional traders to trade money without a trading plan!

Each and every trader must submit their plan and have it approved to be able to start trading money on behalf of clients. The trader is then judged and compensated for how well he follows his own plan and how well he does financially. If he violates his own plan, he may be subject to immediate dismissal !

So it’s crazy for us non-professionals traders to start trading without a plan, especially when things don’t go our way, and they won‘t always go our way, you can be assured of it!

Now, before we begin to write our plan, take just a moment to think about your true investment objective. What do you want to accomplish with this trading account? Simply saying “ I want to make money” is not an investment objective. You have to have a specific objective, like, “To outperform the All Ords by at least 10% annually”. That’s an objective.

Then you must decide what type of industry and sector of shares you are going to invest in. The energy sector, the housing sector or the retail sector are unlikely to outperform the All Ords. That means you might have to look at the more volatile, but more rewarding sectors, like the computer sector, telecommunications, etc. This will likely give you lots of volatility in your portfolio and you’ll have to accept it or don’t get involved in that sector in the first place.

There are 7 necessary ingredients in your investment plan:

  1. Reasonable investment objective – What growth factor do I want to achieve? Be realistic. Are you actively trading or long-term investing?
  2. Risk tolerance statement – What industries, sectors and types of shares will I invest in?
  3. Diversification plan – How many different types of companies do we buy on average? Between 10 –20 should be a maximum.
  4. Price range of the shares we buy – Do we buy $30 shares, or only the sub $10 shares? Do we invest only in Australia, or overseas too?
  5. A defense strategy – How much price decline are we willing to accept? Be sure to use a Stop-Loss!
  6. Contingency / Repair plan – What do we do in a potential large market correction? How do we prevent and/or repair large market losses?
  7. Time frame – How often do we, or will we, re-assess our investment strategy? It should be reviewed every 3-6 months and updated if and when the market conditions change.

To help tailor your investment strategy, try asking yourself these questions:

  • Do I usually average down in price, or do I take a small loss?
  • How many shares do I buy and sell everyday and do I diversify well?
  • What is the usual size of my trades? 500 shares, 1000 shares, or even more?
  • When do I take my profits? When I’m up 10%, 20% 50% or more?
  • If I have a profit in a stock, do I hold it overnight?

When you have considered all the above aspects, you will be well underway to finalizing a very valuable and effective investment plan.

Actress Sharmila Tagore – Bollywood Beauty !

Sharmila Tagore’s Biography

Sharmila Tagore began her career as an actress in the 1959 Satyajit Ray film Apur Sansar (The World of Apu), as the ill-fated bride of the title character. As noted on the official website for Ray, “She was just a fourteen-year-old then, with no previous acting experience. As the shooting began, Ray had to shout instructions to Sharmila during the takes. None of this, however, is reflected on the screen. Ray cast her in his next film Devi too.” She appeared in a number of Ray films, often co-starring with Soumitra Chatterjee.

Sharmila Tagore established herself as a popular Hindi film actress with Shakti Samanta’s Kashmir Ki Kali in 1964. Samanta would cast her in many more hit films such as An Evening in Paris (1967), and teamed her up with Rajesh Khanna for movies such as Aradhana (1969) and Amar Prem (1972). Other directors paired them together in Daag (1973) and Safar (1970). She starred in Gulzar’s 1975 film, Mausam, and she played a supporting role as heroine Sarita Choudary’s mother in Mira Nair’s 1991 film Mississippi Masala.

Reena Roy – Hit Actress of Bollywood !

Reena Roy’s career in films started off with a non-starter, B. R. Ishara’s Nayi Duniya Naye Log with another newcomer Danny Denzongpa, but it was shelved temporarily. Undeterred, B. R. Ishara cast both actors again in Zaroorat (1972), along with another newcomer Vijay Arora, and the racy film got her some attention. She was now called the “Zaroorat Girl.” Yet, she struggled for the next four years in B grade films that had feeble scripts and faltering leading men. The bright spot during this period came with her lively performance in Jaise Ko Taisa (1973), and her rain-soaked dance to the song “Ab ke Sawan” with Jeetendra raised temperatures.

She had to wait two more years for another break. At the outset Kalicharan (1975) didn’t seem like it had the makings of a hit. Subhash Ghai, a failed actor, was making his directorial debut, and Shatrughan Sinha, an actor known for his villainous roles, was making his first mark as a hero. But the film defied everyone’s expectations and became a surprise hit.

Reena Roy also made several films with Sunil Dutt. The successes of Zakhmee (1975) and Kalicharan led to her star vehicle Nagin (1976). Playing the title role of “female snake with mythological powers”. The film became a huge hit, and Reena received her first Filmfare nomination as Best Actress. She was now one of the top heroines in Hindi films. Inspired by “Nagin”’s success, director, Rajkumar Kohli, cast Reena again in his next star-studded horror movie, Jaani Dushman (1979). Thereafter, the Kohli-Roy combination continued to give Bollywood cinema some its greatest multi-starrer blockbusters, including Muqabla (1979 film) (1979), Badle Ki Aag (1982), and Raaj Tilak (1984).

Reena Roy-Shatrughan Sinha became a famous team after “Kalicharan,” and had delivered yet another blockbuster thriller, Subhash Ghai’s Vishwanath (1978). But it was Reena’s chemistry with Jeetendra in marital dramas like Badaltey Rishtey (1978) and Pyaasa Sawan (1982) that set her career soaring. The duo produced three of their greatest classics together – Apnapan (1977), Aasha (1980) and Arpan (1983).

Reena Roy’s poignant dance in Aasha to the melody of “Shisha Ho Yah Dil Ho” immortalized her as an icon of desire and tragedy. Her dark-shaded role in Apnapan as the selfish gold-digger who abandons her husband and child and later wanting her son back, won her the Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award, beating out icons Nutan, Asha Parekh, and Rekha in their most memorable roles. (This was the precursor to the type of role that Meryl Streep played two years later in Kramer vs. Kramer (1979)). As legend has it, Reena supposedly rejected the Award on basis that she is the heroine of the film, not the supporting actress! And finally, her screen image as a sacrificing symbol of Indian womanhood is glorified in the very popular, Arpan.

Reena returned to Bollywood in 1992. In a supporting role as a sister-in-law (‘bhabhi’), Aadmi Khilona Hai (1993) greeted the arrival of the mature Reena Roy. Her unhappiness showed in her significant weight gain. And the insignificant roles that were to follow proved even to her die-hard fans that Reena’s film career came to an end. Her last film appearance was in J.P Dutta’s Refugee (2000). She has since turned to acting in television serials, such as “Eena Meena Deeka,” produced by her sister Barkha. After the serial ended, both sisters opened an acting school together in 2004. Reena roy also has campaigned for the Indian National Congress

Download Photoshop Filters for Free

Photoshop plugins are add-on programs aimed at providing additional image effects or performing tasks that are impossible or hard to fulfill using Adobe Photoshop alone. Plugins can be opened from within Photoshop and several other image editing programs and act like mini-editors that modify the image.

Photoshop-compatible plugins fall into several main types: filter plugins 8bf, import plugins (also called ‘acquisition’) 8ba, export plugins 8be, file format plugins 8bi, and automation plugins 8ly. Also, there are selection plugins 8bs and parser plugins 8by, but no one other than Adobe has ever created plugins of these types.

The most common type are filter plugins. They have the 8bf file format and usually supply special image effects.

“Import/export plugins” acquire or write image data from or to certain devices, “file format plugins” open and save less common image formats (not inherently supported by Photoshop), and “automation plugins” automate certain tasks in the manner of Photoshop “actions” (macros ).

Nilu Phule began his theatrical career with the Marathi folk performances (loknatya). His first professional drama was Katha Akalecha Kandyachi, which went on to have over 2000 shows. It was based on this success that he was offered his first movie Ek Gaav Baara Bhanagadi, by Anant Mane in 1968.

One of Phule’s most notable theatrical performances include his role as the eponymous hero of Vijay Tendulkar’s Sakharam Binder (first staged in 1972). Kamlakar Sarang, who directed the first production of the play in 1972, was apprehensive of Phule’s reticence. However, he was convinced that Phule would be fit for the role, when Vijay Tendulkar reminded him of Phule’s aggressive performance as a minister in another play, Katha Aklechya Kandyachi.
